Living in a national stream and esdorp landscape

The old esdorps are major pillars of the cultural history of the basin of the Drentsche Aa. These villages have given the landscape its present form. Thanks to the knowledge that is still locally present, the plans for the village environment will set in motion new developments in a responsible manner. In future years, all attention will be focussed on the quality of life in the villages in the Drentsche Aa area. The villages should have a form of controlled growth in order to stay alive, but on the condition that new developments will be on a small scale, and that everything will be done to ensure these fit into the existing landscape.
